Three Totems

Collection: Publicly Owned
Three Totems

Sponsor: Edmond Visual Arts Commission partnered with Randel and Dana Shadid

This sculpture is one of several in front of the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond.
The group of three poles is located in a grassy area on the southwest side of the building, next to a sidewalk. Each of the three bronze poles is about 6 ft. tall, and on a concrete foundation about 2 ft. square. The top third of each totem consists of a grouping of about 6 or 7 rocks of varying colors: some round, some flat, layered to form a decorative top. Some of the rocks that are placed upright add to the height of the sculpture. Others are laid flat, in appearance of a support for the rocks above it. The bottom 2/3 of each totem is bronze and three-sided.
