Owl in the Oaks is a beautiful carving located along the path of the Margaret Annis Boys Arboretum. The arboretum is at the back (south side) of the Bickham Rudkin Park. Parking is plentiful, next to the tennis courts of Whispering Heights Park.
The owl is just under 3 feet tall, and is perched on the top of a 3 foot tall tree stump. The artist did a great job of showing detail in the wings and other features of the owl.
The owl sculpture is a great addition to the beautiful grounds at the arboretum. A circular walking path brings you to many different kinds of plants and trees, many with informative signs. A wooden informational entrance sign is at the southeast corner of the arboretum near the entrance from Smiling Hill.
