This sculpture by David Pearson shows a young girl, dressed in a white, calf-length sundress which has a ruffled hem. Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail. Her eyes are heavy-lidded and appear to have the expression of grief. She is barefooted and holds a long sash in her hands on which sit seven doves. The sculpture is very peaceful and perhaps a little mournful, and expresses the memorial well. It is titled “Song of Songs” after a book in the Old Testament in which Solomon expresses his deep love for the love of his life.
