Small Galaxy

Collection: Publicly Owned
Small Galaxy

Sponsor: Edmond Visual Arts Commission partnered with Dr. and Mrs. Damon Johnson

This multi-colored kinetic sculture is located no the northwest corner of Dr. Damon Johnson’s dental office. Small Galaxy is easy seen from Covell, and is across the street from Mitch Park.

The base of this piece is a curvy thin “S” shape. The top has several arms of a multitude of colored and various shapes. Two larger half-circle cupped pieces are what catch the wind and help propel the top to spin in the wind. The arms with the hundred smaller pieces spin independently of each other, but also spin together, making this a fun piece to watch in motion.
