This bronze sculpture of a man beating a sword into a plowshare is located in Stephenson Park. It is a beatiful sculpture and appropriately placed next to the Edmond Historical Museum. The figure holding up the hammer really adds to the height of the artwork, and the large 5-sided base makes it a unique memorial. The park is home to many historical buildings: the Ntl. Register of Historic Places State Armory, WPA American Legion Hut, the Oklahoma Territory’s First Schoolhouse. This sculpture dedication was attended by many in the community, and the dedicated bricks surrounding the sculpture are placed to honor veterans. The bricks have occasionally been rearranged!
