This bronze sculpture depicts three irises and an unopened bud. It was created by Steve Palmerton/The Crucible and stands about 36″ high, mounted on a base about 18″ high. It stands in front of The Hope Center, a non-profit organization which helps families in need. The sculpture is a memorial to Judy Perry Phipps (6/23/56 – 4/27/14), presented by her family, partnering with the Edmond Visual Arts Commission. Judy Phipps’ obituary indicates that she was a teacher and artist, and a volunteer at the Hope Center. Among other things, she was a Master Gardener and we assume that irises were a favorite of hers.
