Flying Heron

Sponsor: Edmond Visual Arts Commission partnered with Coulter Express Carwash

Flying Heron is one of two sculptures at the SW corner of I-35 and 15th St. in Edmond (the other is “Direction”, at On Cue. Coulter Express Carwash is on the west side of On Cue, and Flying Heron is in front of the car wash, along 15th St.

The bronze sculpture is on top of a 3′ tall curved support frame, which is on top of a 3′ tall rectangular base which is on top of a double layer, flat concrete slab. The bird’s wings are up and outstretched, showing it in flight, and the legs are straight back and together. The bird faces northeast.
