    BRINGING THE WORLD OF BALLET TO LIFE. Oklahoma City Ballet’s BalletReach program provides on-site ballet instruction for numerous local schools. Children attend class at least once a week and are provided ballet shoes in order to properly train. Not only do students learn the basics of ballet, but also gain valuable life skills such as responsibility, self-confidence, listening, and observing skills.

    Want to learn to act? What better way than to immerse yourself into non -stop acting activities. Students will participate in acting exercises, improv games and more plus rehearse numerous monologues, duets, as well as scene work with partners. This class will focus on scene work from comedic material as well as classic literature and even Shakespeare! Students will be given the opportunity to perform a Halloween, Valentines and a special performance on May 5, 2020. A $35 materials fee for this class is due at enrollment.

    3rd-12 grade (9-19 yrs) Students will gain a deeper understanding of the musical theatre discipline. Emphasis will be on the methods of musical theatre: vocalization, dancing, expressing a song, working with a director, choreographer and learning theatre and dance terminology. These classes typically serve as a prerequisite to our production classes. This class will perform as part of The Sooner Theatre Showcase, May 3-5, 2019. A $45 Showcase production fee is also due at enrollment for this class.
  • Side-by-Side Program

    This program is an exciting invitation for a local high school or university choir to participate in a “Side-by-Side” performance with Canterbury Voices. This provides students with the opportunity to perform a choral masterwork in a professional venue with experienced musicians. Students receive FREE instruction in their classroom with Artistic Director, Dr. Randi Von Ellefson.

    Classroom activities are optimized for groups of 20-30. Each session runs 45 minutes to an hour. Content can be adjusted for grade level. AIR PLAY (Pre-K to 1st grade)  Based off of “The Tiny Seed” by Eric Carle, this program is an exploration of how air can carry different things. Little scientists will conduct tests, record results, and use their new knowledge as they build their own air-powered creations. PINT-SIZE CHEMISTS (Grades Pre-K to 2nd grade) Who says chemistry is just for big kids? In this hands-on lab activity, budding chemists are encouraged to experiment with a multitude of mixtures, fizzing formulas, and surprising solutions. SMALL SCALE ENGINEERS (Pre-K to 3rd grade)  Inspired by the book “Rosie Revere, Engineer,” join us for a fun filled session of hands-on exploration, design, and building. Even the youngest engineer will have the opportunity to test their creativity, perfect their problem-solving, and build their confidence. ANIMAL ANTICS (Pre-K to 3rd grade)  Reptiles, amphibians, insects — oh my! Want to get up close and personal with some of our creepy-crawly pals? Then this program is just for you! Learn all about some of our legless, scaled or even prickly co-workers and get the chance to get hands-on with them. SCIENCE STUDIO (Grades 1-3)  Wanted: Artistically minded scientists AND scientifically-minded artists. Don’t think science and art belong together? Let us show you why they do! This wholly immersive and interactive program illuminates how often science and art go hand in hand, and allows the opportunity to create different works of art to take home.

    Classroom activities are optimized for groups of 20-30 students. Each session runs 45 minutes to an hour. Content can be adjusted for grade level. ENGINEERING SQUAD: TOY DESIGN TEAM (Grades 4-6) This imaginative toy design challenge will develop students’ problem-solving skills, while allowing them to be toymakers for a day. They will design, build, test, and experience first-hand the basics of engineering.   SCIENCE STUDIO (Grades 4-6) Calling all artists! Did you know that much of art has a scientific component to it as well? Come learn about how science and art intersect while creating a few of your own masterpieces to take home. Whether it’s a robotic friend who helps you draw or an awesome mathematically-based line drawing, you’re sure to tap into your inner-artist and scientist in this creatively diverse program! ADAPTING ANIMALS (Grades 4-6) You may think you know about animal defense mechanisms, but do you know which snake plays dead to escapes its predators? Do you know which reptile spins its entire body to defend itself? How about which insect is hearty enough to be dropped from a two-story building and still survive? If you don’t know, have no fear! Come meet our scaly, spiny, amazingly adaptable partners in this hands-on program, and you’ll learn all the incredible ways they survive and protect themselves! ADVENTURES IN SIMPLE MACHINERY (Grades 6-8) A staple of ancient warfare, catapults have changed a lot in their design over the centuries. From the Romans to the Chinese to the French, many cultures have engineered different ways to harness tension or gravity to launch their projectiles. What type of catapult can you create? Join us as we design, build and test ancient weaponry models using everyday modern objects.
