    Allied Arts OKC
Arts Alliance / Arts Council;  Nonprofit
Allied Arts was formed in 1971 as a way for the community to support and engage with central Oklahoma’s cultural groups. A single donation helps ensure that 40+ local arts organizations have the tools and resources they need to remain strong and offer quality programming to the public. Together these agencies touch the lives of more than one million people annually, including more than 545,000 arts experiences for school-age children in the last year. Since our founding, we have granted more than $63 million on behalf of arts organizations. But we do more than raise money for the arts. We promote arts education, advocate on their behalf, and raise awareness of the impact of the arts in our schools, communities and state. We also provide fundraising, technical and organizational management support to help keep our member agencies in strong financial and operating standing. Donate today. With you, art can change a life.   OUR MISSION: Enriching Our Communities Through Advancement of the Arts OUR VISION: To be the driving force for the arts in Oklahoma’s dynamic growth

Prior to 1965 public funding for the arts in Oklahoma was virtually non-existent. The arts were mostly accessible in coastal and affluent areas of the United States. Realizing the importance of giving all Americans, in rural and urban areas, access to arts and culture, President Johnson signed legislation in 1965 making federal arts funding available to states that created state arts agencies and matched federal dollars. Following the rest of the nation’s move to invest in culture, Oklahoma Governor Henry Bellmon signed legislation creating what would become the Oklahoma Arts Council. Since the Council’s creation, funding for the arts has created a unique partnership between federal, state and private entities to ensure all Oklahomans have access to arts and culture. Mission To lead in the advancement of Oklahoma’s thriving arts industry. Vision The arts will be a transformative force for Oklahoma by improving education, enhancing quality of life, and boosting economic development.
