Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert

Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert

In a series of pieces jazz master Duke Ellington declared his “most important work”, hear Canterbury and the Oklahoma City Jazz Orchestra take on Ellington’s Sacred Concert.

This blend of rhythms and styles familiar to the jazz lover with the choral sounds and liturgy most familiar to the church goer is a delight. In addition to Ellington’s work, Canterbury will also present jazzy choral arrangements of several traditional hymns, including “How Great Thou Art” and “This Little Light of Mine”, specifically assembled for the choir by Dan Keberle.
